Back in The Land!

by Wes Bridel on May 22, 2009

in Israel

We are in the Land!  This will be short as I’m past curfew and must get up in 6 hours, but I wanted to throw up a quick update on the scene here.  Today was an arrival day so we spent much of the day in airports.  Kara and I didn’t get more than an [...]

Is Israel an Ongoing Picture of Jesus?

by Wes Bridel on May 21, 2009

in Israel

Depending when you read this,  our team may already be in “the Land” of Israel!  As we’ve been doing for the past several days, we wanted to share a little information about our Faith that many in the American Church are never exposed to. I (Wes), plan to update the blog daily from Israel if [...]

by Wes Bridel on May 14, 2009

in Israel

This was the last day of the mission part of our trip.
Today was a day for tying up loose ends.  We went in a few different directions looking to bless those that we had met along the way.  In Jerusalem, we went by Makor Hatikva School which is an incredible school for young believers.  [...]

I woke up early to pray on the roof of Beit Immanuel.  It’s beautiful up there to look across the city from the top of this four-story building.  I knew we would be praying for direction on which way to go that day and I just felt hungry to have more alone time with Him [...]

We listened to David and Mike teach, prayed on top of the Temple Mount and then went to the Mount of Olives.  The Garden of Gethsemane is pretty amazing because some of these olive trees were actually there when Jesus prayed amongst them.  They don’t know exactly where He would have been, but there are [...]

Today, we enjoyed the Sabbath rest by having a picnic with a local congregation youth group.  They were mostly teenagers, but some who were younger and others who were older attended.  We were at a beautiful park that had a cliff down to the ocean, but we stayed up in the grass and shared a [...]
