Mission Trip Israel – The Hospital: Part 4

by Wes Bridel on May 12, 2009

in Israel

The burning and subsequent healing in the hospital really helped us to understand just how small we are, and just how big God is to have all of these brothers and sisters in Messiah come out and support us.  We knew no one there, but God knew all of them there, and he brought out [...]

Mission Trip Israel – The Hospital: Part 3

by Wes Bridel on May 11, 2009

in Israel

Glenn had to have a lot of blood drawn and IV’s; each time they had a hard time finding a vein.  The first time they poked him many times before we finally started praying for a good stick.  Then he got a good stick.  Each time after that we would pray that they would get [...]

Mission Trip Israel – The Hospital: Part 2

by Wes Bridel on May 8, 2009

in Israel

The Body of Christ came out!
We hadn’t done any mission work, nor spent any of our vacation in the city where the hospital was, so we knew no one.  However, word spread and one by one (or two, or three) they came to offer their help and prayers.
We also had the advantage of a prayer [...]

Mission Trip Israel – The Hospital: Part 1

by Wes Bridel on May 7, 2009

in Israel

Someone else had to drive, and somehow Glenn kept it together and got in the driver’s seat.  Kara prayed for us the whole way to the hospital.  We showed up to the emergency room and it was craziness as they tried to help us.  We started walking into the hospital but they brought wheel chairs [...]

Kara, Glenn, & I had a 6 day vacation planned for the end of this trip.  I’m not going to go into detail because this was a vacation, but I’ll share briefly where we went.  We drove down to Eilat on the Red Sea and then crossed over into Jordan and caught a cab up [...]

This was the last day of the mission part of our trip.
Today was a day for tying up loose ends.  We went in a few different directions looking to bless those that we had met along the way.  In Jerusalem, we went by Makor Hatikva School which is an incredible school for young believers.  [...]

I woke up early to pray on the roof of Beit Immanuel.  It’s beautiful up there to look across the city from the top of this four-story building.  I knew we would be praying for direction on which way to go that day and I just felt hungry to have more alone time with Him [...]

We listened to David and Mike teach, prayed on top of the Temple Mount and then went to the Mount of Olives.  The Garden of Gethsemane is pretty amazing because some of these olive trees were actually there when Jesus prayed amongst them.  They don’t know exactly where He would have been, but there are [...]

Today, we enjoyed the Sabbath rest by having a picnic with a local congregation youth group.  They were mostly teenagers, but some who were younger and others who were older attended.  We were at a beautiful park that had a cliff down to the ocean, but we stayed up in the grass and shared a [...]
