in Calling

"For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves."

"For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves."

As we discussed before, the Kingdom of God is an invisible spiritual reality – even an eternal reality. But this reality is revealed through the Son and given to the Son. It is a reality of perfection in order and in function.  Thus when it is revealed through the Son, it is also perfect. When we are perfected in Christ, we are also called into this reality to be one with the Father and the Son through the Holy Spirit as we are being transformed into God’s glory and perfected in His life.

When Christ chose to obey the Father out of His love for the Father and His identification with the Father’s love unto His creation, he was sent into the visible world, and became a Man of flesh as the last Adam.  He was born of a woman, and endured all temptations and sufferings even to the point of death on a cross, yet without sin and disobedience. Thus He was perfect in every way.  And as a son of Man, fully able to function under the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of a son of God. More than that, He who was without sin, chose to be condemned by death and sin, even to bear the wrath of God as sin itself.

In this way he was able to disarm the power and dominion of sin and death, and break off the bondage the Evil one laid upon mankind. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice once and for all, having taken away of the curse of sin and death from those who choose to believe in His name and identify in His death and life. He sat at the right hand of God and was given all authority and power over the Evil one and His dominion.

And through our faith in Christ Jesus, we are transferred then into the Kingdom of the Son, in the context that the Kingdom of Darkness exists and batters against the increase of the Kingdom of Christ Jesus.

Col 1:13-14 [NIV]
13For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
