Challenges from the Devil

in Calling

We’ve been discussing Man’s fall from grace; and more specifically, the temptations the enemy invoked in tempting Man away from it.

A light in the midst of darkness

A light in the midst of darkness

The devil challenged Eve with two things:

  1. whether God desires glory and perfection for Man (which would be to His glory) or not;
  2. whether God knows how to accomplish this goal or not. Eve fell into this second trap.  Jesus did not fall into this false wisdom, and he was not bent by seeking a false glory availed by His own means, even though it seemed easy and convenient.   Today, social or cultural relativism and pragmatism have permeated the doctrine of Christianity.  On the other extreme, the yeast of some modern leaders (the Pharisees and Sadducees of today) subtly find ways to dictate the lives of God’s people toward empty practices over the life of the Spirit (this spirit of religiosity shows up in all religions and denominations/groups of Believers). It is hard to stand firmly, undefiled and uncompromised, to commit yourself to be totally dependent on Him for your well being and fulfillment in life.  But a holy remnant is arising from the ruins of Man’s ways and establishments, with pure hearts and holy passion. The remnant is eagerly seeking to truthfully and diligently represent their Father in Heaven, living for His business on earth.  We will witness in this unique day of mankind, light shining forth brightly as darkness begins to be intensified and seemingly covers the whole earth.

We’ll continue this discussion tomorrow.
